If anything, it's darkly possible that an expired Trump would usher in an era of massive, superpowered MAGA disinformation and propaganda framed as "honoring the legacy of the president", attempting to etch his face into Mt. Rushmore and solidify his status as the greatest president of all time.
And then again, it's also still very possible that without the living, breathing charisma that fueled the MAGA movement and consolidated power in Trump's tiny hands, the right wing operation collapses into in-fighting and/or they cannibalize each other (probably wishful thinking)
When Trump is no longer POTUS whether by death or senility the markets will likely crash. MAGA will have lost their God and the suspension of disbelief about lawlessness will freak people out. That crash will make the battle for control tricky.
I’m only ever-so-slightly hopeful it will be the latter. The ideas he’s pushing are not his, but they need a front man to make it all popular, and I’m not sure JD Vance can pull it off.
