Not to mention the implication via just profound ignorance. Free school lunch is the parent’s job? So… should they just take the lunch from Walmart without paying? How does that work if not? The parents are supposed to give a *free* lunch.

I do want schools to provide free lunch for all children since they're legally required to be there.

Sure but how does a parent provide a free lunch to a child? What this means is “I expect the parents to pay for the child’s lunch.” And that’s not free at all. If it was I could buy drinks for a bar and say the bar gave everyone free drinks because I paid for them.

Hell go further. Change 25K for everything on the menu and require people to buy meals for other people. Now all the food is “””free””” somehow. It’s the other people paying for the food and you get so the food is all free I guess. Profit? What profit? This is a charity!

This is a society. Free to the kids. I'll pay.

Well sure you pay the government and the government gives them the food. The government is what provides the kids with the free lunch.
