I’ve been telling everyone to call their governor asking to stop sending the feds OUR money. This admin is helping only red states & F the Blue. So we have the right to say NO to protect ourselves. We’ll use what w/have gone to the Feds, will be spent for state needs and the people’s needs.

Our legislatures need to direct citizens and employers to pay fed taxes into state revenue depts in the first instance. Then governors can negotiate with the Feds the terms for paying in to fund fed activities. It works in the EU, why not here?

Tough, because federal taxes are paid directly to the IRS, not through the state. But something has to give.

What about sales tax?

Sales tax is levied by the states and goes into state coffers. It never goes to the feds or to other states. Only Federal income tax does.
