The thing is importing labour is only a quick fix bandaid to some deep structural issues. They will want to go home eventually or stay and syncronise with local birthrates in a generation or 2. It's just kicking the can down the road. Quick fix solutions never fix long term problems.

That's just not true. Look at turn of the century US 1900s. Everything you are saying is directly countered. Immigration policy brought in hundreds of thousands (who were poor I might add) and it led to the baby boom several generations later.

The local birthrates were much higher in the early 1900s. While immigration has been hugely helpful and beneficial it was a factor of success rather than the main reason.
