I don't understand why people hate on the nations league format, I think it's brilliant! it replaces what would be meaningless friendly's for a competition format. On the one hand you get top nations playing each other and countries like San Marino can be competitive and achieve results like this!

Is it the format or the nations league itself that they don't like? I don't like it because it requires too many 'international breaks' which disrupt the club season - and I'd far rather watch my club rather than a country.

Such is the, for lack of a better word, beauty of the UEFA Nations' League. By allowing the minnows to play each other in Level D as opposed to having them just be sacrificial chum in Euro qualifying, they end up with competitive games, which is fantastic for the San Marinos, Lichtensteins etc.
