Ah, I wasn't sure if it survived covid funding cuts.
They launched a program this year to get monthly donors. The UCP refused to pay $80 million worth of property taxes from 2021-2024 though, so the municipal government has had to raise property taxes on us.
I'll never understand how so many Albertans vote for them.
Lack of education. At this time, due to the UCP’s cuts, Alberta ranks last in per student funding. Just as Republicans have been doing for decades in the US, the UCP are underfunding education to keep the electorate stupid.
Which is fucking criminal imo. They should be sued into oblivion for that alone.
All of Edmonton’s MLAs are NDP, and the NDP won the popular vote in Calgary in the last provincial election, but then there’s rural Alberta, where they keep voting for people who drink on the job and like to sexually harass their staffers.
Yeah, the rural folk tend to vote for the same party for life. Regardless of the damage they may or may not be doing. The NDP did not fair well in Ontario.
And, west of Ontario, “Liberal” is basically a four letter word.
Exactly.
Edmonton-Strathcona, however, is like a different world. It’s been the safest NDP seat in Canada in the past three federal elections, and has been an NDP-stronghold since 2008.
Right. Like Manitoba was. Until recently.
Manitoba has the best premier in Canada, imo. The province has seen a population increase recently. I wish Wab Kinew was my premier! #DumpsterDani can go back to Mar-a-lago to be with her pedophile friend (who has absolutely no clue who she is).
