I hope his last thoughts were realizing that he just got his girlfriend killed, too. Horrible story. The book “The Grizzly MaE” by Nick Jans is haunting but excellent. Lmk if you want to borrow it.

You ever see the documentary The Bridge (2006)? There's one person that's highlighted who has almost these exact thoughts. Kind of voyeuristic. Worth a watch - it'll stay with you.
