IMO Garbage. UBI as conceived in this scenario is a right wing Trojan horse. Eliminate a bunch of targeted programs with one, then nuke that on from space. Any robots that take our jobs will be run off shore. No one should believe a billionaire is doing anything against their class interest.

I agree we shouldn't believe billionaires. Even then, an automation tax is obviously a good idea, it is easy to fix holes in it and pretty much everyone could come around to some version of one, except the billionaires. And the billionaires make the laws, and Bill knows it. This is PR.
Your comment is a great example of why we need to make billionaires obsolete, not human workers.
Don't mistake what I'm saying for not being a big fan of automation, I want fully automated gay space communism! I want all the jobs to be as hard as any average person, "computer do the thing!" So people can do as much as little as they want.
I didn't miss that. 🤷♀️ Not a huge fan of automation here, tho. I've already lost one job to it & am against it in the workplace. I wouldn't mind it in personal spaces as long as it's 100% private & not accessible in AMZ warehouses & etc for the amusement of others.
