The infuriating part about the stuff he's doing is none of this stuff is *his*. The White House, Air Force one, etc, they belong to us, the citizens of the United States. He's defacing our property.

This in particular is infuriating because he will never actually get to use them. The Air Force One won't be done till after his term ends and this will take at a minimum 2 years to complete, so what even is the point? He's spending all our money, defaming our property for no reason.

Seems like it, but also seems like a safe bet that a future dem president can make the easy case that since the Qatari plane was paid for with US tax dollars it is effectively US property and as such will not be going to his library.

Recent reports is its gonna cost close to a billion to add all the security enhancements and won't be done till 2027 at the earliest, so strong possibility it's still in the US Air Force's hands right up till 2029 inauguration day.

Yes. It's notable that he made a hash of those AF1s in his first term when he demanded that Boeing convert some already built (for a Russian airline natch) 747s in storage rather than build new planes.

Not stealth, thermal management. There was a real dangers the engines could fail because he demanded the nacelles be painted dark blue which could cause them to overheat. Which now that I think about it, he should knock himself out.

I remember a while back there was talk that Boeing was gonna do a rush job on the new AF1s and it was going to be supervised by Elon and maybe we should revisit that plan because I think it was pretty good
