Of the 21 UN member states that do not have standing militaries, most are/were protected colonies and still have special agreements guaranteeing protection with their former colonizers. Unless all illegal Israeli settlements are dismantled and Israel is also somewhat demilitarized, 1/2
are the UK, France, and Canada willing to guarantee Palestine's sovereignty? Would it be the way that Iran's sovereignty or the way Lebanon's or Syria's sovereignty is guaranteed under International Law -- which is to say not at all. As long as Israel has impunity this cannot work. 2/2
