Their whole raison d'etre is to preserve the status quo. They don't want to change anything, it's far more useful to be able to say 'you'll lose Roe if you don't Dem' or 'Trump will do X Y Z if you don't vote Dem' than it is to actually do or offer anything worth voting for. It's a playbook.
