The James Webb Telescope as found a planet 34 ly away that we could potentially live on. I think we should send someone from the White House to go check it out.

Hello Elmo? A starship awaits your ride to space. Maybe take your buddy with you.

Better send a very, very large delegation from the WH. And the Senate. In case it's something really good, you know.

Voyager has travelled 1 light day in 50 years. So thats 500,000 years to get 34 ly. And you say "potentially live on"?

So it is true that life most likely lives on that planet, but humans would need to lighten up the gravity. The planet is twice as big as earth. So a human could not survive the push of gravity.

Good idea. These things should not be left to just anyone to explore. Besides they might need someone who is brilliant to negotiate a peace agreement.

There are many worrying aspects of that article. It would have to be a gas giant, which would have crushing atmosphere at the surface of any solid core. The high temperature at a very great distance from its star suggests that the star is a monster. The data don't fit together very well at all.

They'll get back to us in approximately...(does some estimates) 600,000 years? Wait, no. That's how long it'll take for them to get there. 600,034 years. Think we'd developed FTL by thrm and just didn't bother to check up on them?
