lol the expiration date isn't for the salt but for the stuff added to it like iodine and seasonings. pink salt also is pink because of trace minerals but i doubt those expire

Lol..I read not long ago that the expiration date on staple foods in plastic packaging is for the plastic not the contents. water, soft drinks etc. etc etc I think your salt is safe other than the degraded plastic chemicals. Feel better? 😉

Salt of any kind does not expire. The dates on a lot of food is more for the store to know how to rotate food in and out. Obviously perishables are different but even in many cases, those are still good past the date.

Agreed in general. Salt, specifically, seems ridiculous: the packaging will "age" before the product itself. Of course I undsrstand having some guidelines in the form of "best by" or "use by" dates for many things (including all perishables), but for Himalayan salt? Laughable
