It has shown the gulf between us and the top third clubs. Big big gap. But we are not really competing with them. It’s teams like Everton, Brentford, Wolves and West Ham we should benchmark against. Plus of course Burnley and Sunderland.

Saka's goal was the same as the one he scored at Elland Rd. Same run, same position, same “Smash it past the keeper to the top corner”. Different class this lot are.

Luckily we’ve signed two forwards (one bench, one not in squad today) and possibly looks like another being lined up too. Lessons to learn today are about defensive mistakes, the system was ok and we were fairly comfortable for 30 mins despite sitting in deep.

To a point, yes. Though we have got any possession as Gnonto and Piroe are tiny/weak and can’t retain the ball under any pressure. Midfield doesn’t get the ball into final 3rd in isolation.

Cant play piroe when you need an out, DCL will be an improvement. But midfield need to be bolder with it, or get it forward quicker. Sort of caught between two styles the team out there right now.

Totally. We can be positive that we have stopped their pressure turning into chances but they are a class above. Need to be more direct up the channels and move play up and hope to benefit from a set piece. I want to see team not collapse 2nd half. #LUFC
