With Gyabi off to Hull on loan, we seem to be just as bad at selling players as buying them. Gelhardt, Joseph, Woeber, Schmidt, Largie and Gyabi all out for next to nothing... and it'll have cost us a fair bit to cancel Bamford's contract. Mes to PSG to save the window? #lufc

It’s pathetic it really is, fees go berserk this window and we are loaning everyone out ffs

It's actually comical just how inept we are as a club at transfer activity.

Lorient sounds most likely, not sure how much money they could afford though?

Just saw the Lorient link... thought PSG as they're selling Donnarumma to City.

Yeah, I know he wants to be first choice but going to PSG as number 2 could be great for him, out of the firing line play some cup games then go somewhere to be first choice once he's developed

I think it’s had a huge effect on spending power. Like ditching some of the peripheral players eg Meslier, aaronson, Harrison for 25-30m would have not affected first team but could have enabled the bigger spend 2-3 we need now

lol. Other clubs aren’t stupid. They’ll be on bonkers Orta wages that other clubs won’t pay. Player doesn’t want a pay cut. Therefore we keep and try to increase their value or loan out.

My default for any issues with transfers… Blame Orta He got lucky with Bielsa and Raphinha. Man’s a fraud.

So much more than just player selection. Sometimes it’s bad luck too, like you’ve got 27 year old Bamford who’s just scored 17 in premier league and in England squad, why wouldn’t he get a contract for that level. Sodding awful contract retrospectively, but 🤷‍♂️. Those Harrison loan options though….🤦‍♂️

They can't pay fees but they can signing players. Translation he goes to them for £0 but we get him off the books.

He would have still received some his final year's wages as a pay-off, though. That's a couple of million at least.

Didnt cost us anything extra then. In fact, it saved resources (medical, expenses, etc)

Think the €4m figure is inflated. Includes total potential value of transfer. Actual fee was about £1.5m I believe

Gelhardt, Wöber & Gyabi - Orta signings on big wages, the players won’t take a pay cut so loan is probably the only option. Joseph and Largie - club rate them but Farke doesn’t - loans with no option to buy means Farke’s eventual replacement still have them as options… Bamford - wages and injuries

Exactly this. I presume wages off the books helps our PSR position as much as sales, but I don't know.

Dumping wages is good... but we'll still be picking up the tab for a good chunk of them. And there's no fee to bank, either.

You could argue that the reason that certainly Gelhardt and Largie are no longer here is due to mismanagement on the playing side, which impacts on their value

I don't think Hull is allowed to buy? So that's 2. Wober and Joseph will be on Orta contracts, and we know how bad they are! I also think largie and schmidt were in case we didn't get promoted signings!
