My take on the poly stuff is that I spent 34 years of my life single because I was incapable of parsing romantic interest in me as anything but a cruel joke, then I started to love myself and within 6 months stumbled into having two partners and if that makes anyone mad they can choke on it. 🤷♀️
i realised i was poly when my 2nd ex, also poly, showed me firsthand that through care and communication, love's shortage, which i was afraid of, would not be felt, even in polyamory
ive had my first foray into it when i realised my gf didnt have the same amount of time or patience for me as i had for her, and i was yearning over something out of reach, and a friend wanted to get close to me at the same time it worked for a time, but i think im not built for long distance...

Me I just kinda figured it out early. It's put a wrench in dating though do to my location.
It's ironic, isn't it? By putting rules and processes in place to make sure we're not hurting anyone, we reduce our available pool of potential partners further than if we just cheated.
lol yeah especially solo poly. When I get back into dating, it's going to be easy for me to settle as an relatively unimportant member of someone else's polycule.
