John Deere laid off 2,176 workers in 2024 due to falling commodity prices. That's a 90% reduction in layoffs year-over-year.

John Deere World Headquarters is in Moline, Illinois, across the Mississippi River from Davenport Iowa. It was built in 1964 by Eero Saarinen. It’s a long time midwestern corporation.
