DS9 start GET REAL GOOD about halfway through. Once Worf shows up S4E1, and the Dominion War kicks into gear. Literally the best Trek there is.

The Dax is last season. End of S5 start of S6 is the Dominion war arc.... And when it gets truly great. IMHO.
