Also, noting that the amazing Molly Ivins and Ann Richards both hailed from Texas.

Molly Ivins was a firebrand Journalist and a real Texan. There was a documentary out a few years ago that told her story.
Native Texan and Houstonian here. I returned from a year in Asia for a family matter and didn’t plan on staying but life got in the way. Oh. And COVID. I don’t disagree that there are great things about the state, but the bad outweighs the good right now and I’m organizing and working with others
to change that. I’d rather have spent my retirement elsewhere and not having to badger/troll the Texas legislature and horde of miscreants, but these are the dystopian cards we’ve been dealt. However, until Texans do pull their heads out of their asses and recognize their part in maintaining the
current status quo of repression and regressive and reactionary politics (& the polity that results), the state deserves all the shit it gets. See also, every oppressive, ass-backwards, dumber’n a box of rocks state similarly afflicted. Texans are inordinately and stupidly proud of their “cowboy
up” mentality. And yes, many of us are the friendliest people you might meet, but there’s a whole lot of dumbass in our water and it really has diminished us to a tragic degree.
That was then. This is now. Cornyn, Cruz, Abbott, Patrick, Paxton, and the rest of the pedo protecting republican traitor legislators have turned the state into an absolute corrupt, fake-Christian bigoted shithole. Tx will suffer until the people decide they’ve had enough.
I think at this point we can safely say that this is actually what real Christianity is all about, and everything they told us before was the fake stuff.
Literally no one here is unaware of that. Do you mind letting us tend our brisket in peace?
Miss Ann's motorcycle and Molly's sense of humor.
