People are a lot less likely to do violent crimes when society is on overall "good". The US has a tough on crime approach that is just not working. The US just escalate everything, something that should just be a warning, like cannabis, become 5 years, 10 years etc
Cannabis is legal in Canada. It's no worse than alcohol. We're all alive and happy here.
But yeah, people use guns when everything else has failed them. In most countries, most things works, to a degree. In the US, everything is failing.

Yeah, it's legal in some states, but even if you are selling, your life should not be destroyed because of it. Maybe if you are selling to kids there should be something, but then the penalty should be the same as tobacco or alcohol.
With legalization comes regulation. Age limits just like alcohol. But also clean drugs that are strictly regulated. No rat poison etc. Only people pissed off are the drug dealers and a preacher or two.
I think some people just want other people to be imprisoned. Whether it's for-profit prisons lobbyists or far-right.
Right. Healing happens faster when forgiveness is included.
