Sad truth: Democrats’mistake in 2024 was to not have realized that Hillary Clinton didn’t lose the election because of the emails or Comey or her persona; but because she is a woman.

Yep. A lot of people did not deal with reality. Joe knew it and that’s why he tried to stick it out. I truly believe he would not have run again if he’d had a younger, white male VP. He had to pick Kamala to please the base, but it boxed the party in. Won the battle, lost the war.
They had four years to groom up a successor and run a real primary but, no, Joe just had to go back on his own word and try to stay. That was THE strategic error.
The strategic error was picking Kamala. She is capable and qualified, but the country was not going to let her be President. She would not have had a credible primary challenger because the base of the party would’ve pushed back hard. But if Joe hadn’t picked her, he wouldn’t have won. Catch 22.
He would not have been cornered into picking Harris it he had stuck to his plan of being a one-term president.
Kamala would’ve been seen by the base as the heir apparent, similar to HRC in 2016. Anyone who tried to primary her would’ve been called racist, sexiest, etc. I think that’s why Joe tried to run again.
I disagree. The base was ready for the first honest primary in nearly a decade and only rallied behind the anointed to avoid the appearance of fragmentation.
This is true, & it's not gonna change anytime soon. We are getting less educated, not more. We are getting more prejudiced, not less. Half the country no longer believes in science. I don't believe there is any woman who could win the presidency of the US. We are a backward, ignorant country.
