Yeah if you've worked in a kitchen, you'll have no trouble at all. This is just a very long, high-carbon blade. it comes pretty much shaving-sharp, some people put custom bevels on them just like knives but you don't really have to. And just keep it dry / oiled a bit to prevent rust.
