There are approximately 1500 new cases annually (about 5 of every 100,000 people) and Canada has a current population of 42.2 million currently. It is a life long affliction. Average diagnosis is at age 50-60 years (but I was 30) and average life expectancy in Canada is 81 years.

Could be wrong but how about average age 50 dies at 80 so thirty years with new diagnosis of 1500 a year 1500 x 30 = 45,000
