Just guessing, but I think most of the crime in this country is perpetrated by citizens as opposed to illegal immigrants. They're here for a better life.

They need numbers, and criminals take time to find. They’re going after the folks they have on record, asylum seekers, people who’ve kept in touch. That’s why they’re looking at lawful residents, because they’re running out of easy to find “unlawful” ones.

The real problem — and the real danger — is that a court explicitly prohibited it, and yet he did it anyway. That’s what makes this so dangerous: Trump is openly disregarding the law.
