OK, so early in this podcast by @chrislhayes.bsky.social, @billmckibben.bsky.social mentions a Google nuke project that will make 0.5GW of power when it fires up in 10 years. Meanwhile China alone was adding 3GW of solar EACH DAY a few months back. The nuclear focus vs renewables is just weird.

i think it is easier to sell nuclear based on a subscription utility model than it is to charge rent for sunshine. it's always about "can we charge people money for access to this resource?" and "for how much?"
