Watched two episodes. I’m hooked

Haven't seen Ep2 yet, but 1 is a good start! It's definitely got Hawley vibes (face dissolves and all), so opinions will vary depending on how they vibe with Hawley. It has a solid grasp on what made Alien & Aliens interesting, moreso than Ridley Scott did IMO. Corpo wars and new ideas. Digging it.

Interesting storyline. No spoilers. But yes, it is good!

Watched the first two episodes tonight. It is good. Looking forward to the rest.

Nope it's just a bunch of stupid-ass kids brought together by ridiculous coincidences and zero serious world-building. They've blown all the tentacles' and goo stuff already, and the central relationship is some Amelie synth and her 'who gives a shit' love for her magic unkillable human brother.

There's a slimy CGI eyeball on wiggly legs that's not even Alien, it's a joke from 'Reanimator' plus they kill a cat which even I know is a dumb move these days.

Best scene involves elites at a party who are dressed up in pre-revolution French attire (face paint and frills), and who don't believe that anything will actually eat the rich.

This world is not that far gone that Noah Hawley would let us down.

It is brilliant. Smart sci-fi mixed with balls to the wall schlock horror

very good first ep.

I watched both E1 and E2 tonight. It's pretty good, has promise, and laid down quite a few markers. Appears to have had a BIG budget for a cable series. Felt that Olyphant is underused in E1/E2, but things may easily change. I'm going to watch it regardless because of Noah Hawley; I loved Fargo.

So far, I am underwhelmed. I hope that changes.

Weapons is awesome though. Go see that!

No idea. I foolishly saw the two films that followed Aliens, then swore never to see anything else for the franchise.

Its good. People need to accept that nobody wants to just remake Alien/s over and over again and will try to build the world out.

Episode 1 was good. Working on 2.

Not interested in watching personally, but I hear its good. And you can't go wrong with Timothy Olyphant.

Movie or film franchise turned into a streaming series? Andor is the only one I've vaguely heard of to be considered "good" when that happened. The track record speaks for itself. And there's been like a couple alien films that were "bad".

They should have adapted Aliens Phalanx tbh.

It is. And it was always going to be. Noah Hawley's in charge that guy is one of the best writer's of his generation. It puts everything since Aliens to shame really.

Yes. Very cinematic in quality. Watched on our largest tv. Interesting world building. Wonderful that it has actual characters to root for (the kids). I actually appreciate the insider touches that went over my partners head. I just couldn’t watch the cat scene. Had to have him tell me it was over

I saw an early review of the first 6 episodes from source that I trust, so I will give it a shot. Here's hoping.

They will. But what they tell you is different from what you will see. Will it be the same or not? Usually, not. But I'm trying to be optimistic.

It’s Alien for kids that don’t know or like Alien. It seems to does the same for the franchise as Ep9 did for Star Wars…

Hey, I got into it. It takes the path of Romulus of being retro, and heavily taking imagery from the old movies. And also being cool in it's own way.

Gave it a good chance but had to drop out midway through episode 2. Found the adult characters trying to act like they had child minds really annoying

That's a shame it led to some great comedy in the second half of episode 2, ended with a banger line that only a kid would come up with. Hopefully they'll find their way between the manic pixie vibes and the we have grown up fast vibes they need to get to.
