Which tape did you use? The MGT PlusD System Tape is the best place to start. (Once you get it working, I'd reccommend you upgrade to BetaDOS as it fixes a bunch of bugs, but starting off with ordinary G+DOS is fine). spectrumcomputing.co.uk/entry/0011111

Good luck! Any of the tape images on that page should work. (I remember comparing them in the past but I don't think there were significant differences). Datel took over selling the PlusD (when MGT moved onto the SAM Coupé), so that tape is a little later.

HI :) I can I ask some Greasdeweazle questions ? I can read a disk made on my +D using the zx.plusd.ds80 format to a edsk file, but I can't write one back and get the error

Or try reading straight to .mgt file, that should work too. Does your edsk work in an emulator?

EDSK is the correct format for zx spectrum files, I can read a disk and save to edsk image, rename to dsk and load it into fuse. I think the problem I have is I am using usb 2 and it's not fast enough.

Ah bummer, I’ve not run into that before. I use a Mac so I’m not even sure what flavour of USB it has!

FWIW apparently mine is connected via a USB 2.0 hub to a USB 3.0 bus, but I've never had that underflow error.

Hmm, not sure. I don’t really use edsk, maybe that’s a factor. Latest gw software supports MGT format though (treats it as IBM.800 I think). Simon Owen’s samdisk is great for converting disk files (SCP, DSK and MGT for example) simonowen.com/samdisk/

I tried using scp files and converting with HxC floppy emulator, but it had the same issue.
