Sounds like they should stop voting against their own interests. Perhaps they shouldnt attack or reject people trying to help them rebuild after a hurricane destroyed their community. How bad do things have to get for them to change?

So, remember how in Dune the Southern Tribe of the Fremen were the ones who dealt with the harshest conditions of Arrakis, yet held the most fundamentalist of beliefs? That's the same situation in said red US states. Only now they have an "Orange Messiah" to point to and praise.

Their faith will harden their temperament so long as they see the 'right ppl' being hurt by this admin. Their suffering is a test, and other ppl's suffering a blessing. These kinds of ppl don't 'ask' for help. They leave it to faith and obey society in order to get by. That's how fucked they are.
