BBC iPlayer has been showing that button for Doctor Who. We NEVER skip the Doctor Who intro.
BBC iPlayer has been showing that button for Doctor Who. We NEVER skip the Doctor Who intro.
We live in a world where they're putting in post credit scenes just to fight auto-skip.
Oh geez, I wasn't paying attention and I thought it was the "Skip Ad" button and got really confused. I forgot about this feature on streaming services.
Alas modern audience is prone to binge.
I just don't want spoilers
...In intro? 🤨
Lot of shows will put random clips in their intro themes, sometimes it’s from past episodes, sometimes it’s from stuff that hasn’t aired yet. Maybe that’s what they’re talking about? 🤔
But those are appetizers! What next? Watching anime like a cigarettes in black box?🤷♂️
Sometimes, the "appetizers" just show a whole key point that ruin a scene or character arc because you already know what happens next. Some people are fine with them, but spoilers just ruin everything for some people.
Can you give an example? Seriously can't imagine what show will have ruining spoilers in intro akin to "Darth Vader is Luke's father".
Anime loves doing that. It's usually harmless snippets, but every once in a while you get something like Attack on Titan OP7, where it just spoils MAJOR events that happen mid-season. When watching with a friend, I edited it out for the first few episodes bc I wanted his reaction to be genuine.
Also the Chimera Arc opening for Hunter x Hunter. Both the opening and ending show characters that reveal what happens next. And there's spoilers for what happens almost at the end of the arc there!
I usually watch the OPs. I like them. But whenever I'm binging (which is rare), I skip the mid-season OPs. I stop skipping near the end just in case it pulls a JoJo and changes details in the OP. I also completely skip them if someone gives me a heads up for spoilers until I'm in the clear.
Very admirable wish to not ruin friend's watching. Technically Attack on Titan is supplement material for manga (it's not like at the West), but I get your point.
I feel like "teaser" and "spoiler" are two different things. At least in intros I've seen, it's less "random clips" and more selectively curated scenes to build intrigue / hype for what is to come. And most often uniquely animated. Unless there's intros with straight unedited, out-of-context clips??
Gonna have to disagree chief. I think Dandadan is the only show where I don't skip the intro after hearing it once. I can't skip the Kaiju No8 intro fast enough
Big Freakazoid energy.
Thank you!
Nice 2-panel comic.
that's right, you tell that button
It’s essential for animes where the intro for a twenty minutes episode is three minutes long.
If they didn't want me to skip it then they should have made an intro as good as Stardust Crusaders 😏
I love how we're all in agreement that this is about anime~
Please, Shen, I don't have *time* to watch the OP every episode when I'm re-binging One Piece for the third time. Even if most of them *are* certified bangers.
With One Piece, some of the intros are 3 or 4 minutes long. Just, I’m not sitting through all that every episode.
I'm just mad that amazon auto skips credits but need you to hit like 3-4 buttons to skip the intro
Look if i wanted to listen to the song again i go to YouTube i just wanna get in with the episode
"WE WERE ALL HAVING A GREAT TIME UNTIL YOU SHOWED UP!! OOOOOUUUUGHH!!!"
CAUSE I GOT TO TELL YOU, THIS IS A HAPPY PLACE!!
Bro has never watched some of those One Piece episodes with the 4 minute intro.
what's worse is the "skip recap" which automatically happens if you press the "play next episode" button and happens on shows where the recap has, like, gags in the narration and so on also netflix have just straight stopped playing end credits entirely, argh
HBO Max is very awful with this. You can't even cancel the "Play Next" button and it often happens right in the middle of the endings of episodes
Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood is notorious for having actual plot before the opening and after the credits, sometimes 2-3 minutes of it. We were watching on a site that skipped the outro automatically and only noticed about 30 episodes in. We skipped so much good stuff accidentally.
i had a near crash out because of the ui and countdown during the credits of a movie that had not only beautiful art during the credits but a post-credit scene as well it's disrespectful to me and especially to the creators! let me have a moment to take in and discuss what i just watched!
No it isn ot. Sometimes Intros aren't that good or too much after 3 times. Especially if you binch a show.
i am NOT watching the dexter intro over and over
IM SORRY IM ONE OF THE FILTHY SKIPPERS 😭 A lot of It depends on the show and whether I’m binge watching or not. If the themes a banger I’ll let it ride until I get sick of it, otherwise I’ll give it a couple watches just to see it and then skip it the rest of the time
100% me with sgt frog
eh, not really. Some intros are straight up terrible, but skipping CREDITS however, now THAT is shameful
The option is fine, but when it automatically does it? I just finished Squid Game Season 3, and the credits were rolling. I was in my feels! I was listening to that beautiful credits soundtrack, AND THEN NETFLIX JUST SKIPPED AND AUTOPLAYED THE SG IRL VERSION!? I was watching that! I went back tho
now THAT sucks. Personally I'm fine with it being a toggle y'know, one that you can chose if you WANT it to skip or not!
shen please my family is sick, please tell me What’s The Deal with unkillable please. why did it get memory-holed? i gots to know.
Nah id fast forward through the intro before that button was invented cuz spoilers
Spoilers in the opening AND kind of boring in the sixth episode of the night...
You are both weak
Is it bad that I heard that in Freakazoid's voice as I read that?
The only intro I don't skip when binging is Bluey. It's 25 seconds long. By the time I even got the remote and moved to the option, it'd be over anyway.
The evil cousin of the "skip ad" button.
Ok, but the opening of the last season of apothecary's diary really sucked. D:
So you like being spoiled by most shows
As a prolific intro skipper, I disagree :P
Personally, I never once skipped an intro.
