Good luck with that! Article 1, Section 5 "Each House may determine the Rules of its Proceedings,"
Good luck with that! Article 1, Section 5 "Each House may determine the Rules of its Proceedings,"
"Each House may determine the Rules of its Proceedings, …" U.S. Constitution, article I, section 5.
Spoiler: Alito is precisely bent enough to swallow this one.
This Supreme Court is corrupt and compromised. Nothing is beyond the pale for them
Alito to Paul: Challenge accepted. 😉
Not even Alito. Famous last words…
So every prez for 100 years has been able to work within this system, but its just too darn difficult for him.
Don’t bet your house on it…..
Hard to judge what this Supreme Court will allow an immunized Unitary Executive
MEMBERS OF THE SENATE DON'T VOTE THE WAY I LIKE SO I'M GONNA SUE THEM. Good Christ we have the dumbest possible dictator
Dictators are ALWAYS stupid. It’s their *enablers* who aren’t complete fools.
Before my lord and savior Bruce Willis, the rarest thing on Earth is a truly shrewd dictator who is actually *smart* and *evil*, it's quite often some fuck up who's angry but who couldn't pour water out a boot with instructions on heel propped up by *slightly* smarter people with a harder grudge.
Like a whole coalition of upper-middle-class losers and assholes who decided to make their whole personality about the one time someone definitely told them "no." That's how shit goes in westernized societies, so often it would be funny if it didn't come with a body count.
Beg your pardon, "definitively" not "definitely," I was thumb ranting.
“Blue slips are a de facto, unconstitutional limit on of the Executive’s core Article II powers. Therefore we dissent.” —3 or 4 Justices.
Problem is, the Legislature is the branch that actually has the authority to remove judges, the Executive doesn't. The Constitution is crystal clear "Each House may determine the Rules of its Proceedings,"
"unbelievable people"
Makes sense that Trump wouldn’t have a clue about a “gentleman’s” agreement. Except maybe when it came to pedophilia.
Oh, Alito will absolutely rule with Trump on this. Thomas probably too.
Never say never
Yay. It’s possible he gets a couple.
"A careful review of the history and traditions of the Constitution shows an unassailable interest of the President in his nominees receiving a Senate confirmation vote ..."
😂😂 ridiculous
You know, at this point, I wouldn’t rule anything out. I’m no lawyer, but I can read, and the Constitution says that all persons - not citizens, persons - are entitled to due process. And yet! And they’re going to rule on birthright citizenship, which is right there in the Constitution as well.
