Well done! My son makes pizza in a cast iron skillet.
Well done! My son makes pizza in a cast iron skillet.
I don’t have a pizza stone either, I typically make pan crust pizzas in my cast iron skillet.
👀
Absolutely use cast iron. Pans of ant size or griddles. They won't crack like a stone. DO preheat the pan with the oven. And get a pizza peel. They are very helpful.
looks awesome!
this looks absolutely fire
Have you seen this new kitchen range? www.fastcompany.com/91376768/fri...
Thin crust?
Looks so good!
that's a fuuny looking cake but either way wow you made that it looks so yummy 😋
Looks good. I tried to make . I’m gonna try again
Highly recommend one of these, pre-heated on full temp before slapping the dough on. Pile on toppings as quickly as possible and back into the full blast oven for fifteen minutes. Crispy crust every time.
Right now, I wish you were roommates 🥰
🤷♀️
Beautiful za 💪
❤️
I had pizza tonight
Looks great count me in!
Get an ooni. That looks like you bought it at a 24hr garage at 0300 on your way down.
😋
Thats the point of a stone, to get the bottom cooked. A pizza steel is even better. Thats what I have.
👏
Steel?
That looks just like my pizza pan! It works great. Made pizza tonight, but forgot to take a pic. Canadian Bacon and mushroom.
Never used a pizza stone and mine turn out just fine
There's fine, and then there is best.
My entire server just had a huge conversation about this exact subject last week
it's hard to get right!
it looks like you did very well
If you want crispy, a pizza stone is frankly the easiest way to get it.
yeah, just not cheap unfortunately
How do you roll it out so beautifully round?!? Looks great!
The older you get, you realise you don't need any of the gadgets they keep pushing out to save your time. Basics work...lol
Thrift stores always have pizza stones dirt cheap.
I was actually thinking about this yesterday. gonna go look soon
What is your dough recipe?
here you go, it's below
Than you so much!! I'll let you know how it goes!! 🍕
Electric oven eh? Don't worry - you can get that perfect flavor easily! Just include a large muslin bag full of twigs and allow time to carcinogenize.
Yummy homemade pizza!🍕
I use 2 pizza stones and a pizza steel, 1 on each rack. I put the oven on convection roast to preheat. I cycle pizzas through, 2 minutes on stone on lower rack, 2 on middle pizza steel and then 1 on the top stone. I can do 4 pizzas in 12 minutes this way. I will post photos tomorrow.
about to test out another dough that isn't made from scratch against mine to see how it compares. might as well as long as the oven is hot. I already tried a slice of this one and it was amazing
the store bought dough was unfortunately not great. needs to be crispier on the bottom, but it's harder to get right with that dough and the method I'm doing. everyone loved the first pizza, though, so that was a success! I guess I won't bother buying the dough next time
smaller pizza, too, but it LOOKS good. just not as crispy as I'd like it. tried to leave it in a bit more but worried about burning the top. also don't judge my messed up circle lmao
In future; If you have a way to cover the top (maybe a pie pan? I can’t tell the size difference) it would allow you to cook the bottom longer.
I bought myself a pizza steel, which is even better than a stone and I regret nothing. You're doing fantastic for making without them though. What is your cheese pull like? Are you using pre-shredded cheese?
could be better honestly, and yeah I only had pre-shredded cheese at the moment. I want to try with other kinds of cheese. any recs?
They put anti-caking agents in pre-shredded cheese which messes with this. If you have a good deli nearby that sells mozzarella that they slice, use that. You can either ask them to cut a block off and then you shred it or have it sliced thin. If sliced spread it evenly or stack and cut into strips.
The difference is insane 😂
I second that pizza steel. Never missed the stone.
We love our Ooni pizza oven
STELLAR
THANK U
Looks absolutely fucking delightful.
Scratch? Shouldn't you have used flour?
I bought unglazed tiles at Home Depot for a $1 each and configure my own pizza stone now depending on size. cheap and easy
That looks great!!
& just in time for supper...
I'm just gonna buy a nice piece of flat metal and heat that thing to 500 or whatever the oven can handle and see if that works
Cast iron frying pans or pgriddle. Cast iron griddles.
your pizza looks yummy
thanks!
😋🍕😋
magnifico
Pizza 😋
Any recipes for the crust? Would love to make pizza at home
1 and 1/3 cups warm water 2 tsp yeast (or whole packet usually) 1 tbsp sugar set aside for 10 minutes 3 cups bread/pizza flour 1 tsp salt add yeast mixture 2 tbsp oil (olive oil preferred) stir until it starts to come together knead for 10 minutes let rise for 90 mins or leave overnight in fridge
the secret to getting crispy crust without burning the top is to cook only the dough for about 7 minutes and then add the toppings I cook only the dough on the bottom rack and then when I add the toppings I move it to the top rack and cook for about another 5 mins
Thank you for sending this and you're secrets to a crispy crust, will send pictures soon.
PEPPERONI! My favorite. Looks good.😋
