so in this fantasy you've created, it's *bad* to ask/demand democrat leadership to fight this at all? seems weird. especially considering not only has leadership dropped the ball, they won't even back the dem nominee for new york mayor. what would you call that?

Let's unpack this. What do you mean by fight? What measures should the house Democrats have taken that they have not, and how would our situation be any different now if they had taken these actions?

The very first thing that comes to mind is "withdraw unanimous consent" draw up a schedule & have 1 senator & 1 rep on duty 24/7 to object to every single action no matter how procedural. Virtually none of Trump's cabinet would be confirmed & congress would be ground to a near-complete halt.

Yes. This is a valid criticism. I think Schumer has been too agreeable and business as usual in confirmations. I'm not so sure the House dems could have slowed things down much.

The House would probably have fewer areas where they could slow things down, but they still have areas where they can. At this point every area that can be slowed, should be.

I agree with you on that. My original point was that negatively comparing congressional dems with Newsom's recent action is somewhat unfair in that Newsom actually has power. The redistricting plan, if successful, does change facts on the ground.

why are you asking me this? i have no institutional power like a senator or representative does. why do i need to plan this out for them?

You're expressing dissatisfaction with congressional dems' performance during Trump's 2nd term. I am simply asking what you would have done differently.
