Honestly, these last few days have caused me to lose a lot of respect for the LAPD. All the videos I've seen where people have gotten shot with projectiles unprovoked or beaten or press arrested have been LAPD. Not the National Guard. Not CHIP. Not LASD. All LAPD

The reforms are toothless and deliberately lack oversight and enforcement mechanisms. Police reform is impossible because policing itself is an inherently corrupt and corrupting system, just by virtue of the power it confers on officers over the entire society.
