Never in my life in NM have I walked into a gas station that is bedecked with golden anything. Terrible analogy on the posters part. Now...turquoise, brick red and sage green? Have at it!

I think the poster was referring to overdone and tacky. The location could be changed to Tennessee, Michigan or wherever.
