Great. Wish they could make application in France before putting their lives at risk and crossing in small boats at huge cost

Unfortunately this isn't allowed. Apart from a small number of people under the government's new scheme where people can apply to come here and be swapped for people who arrived on small boats (but only 50 people a week each way)

So do I. I suspect the recent changes are the precursor to exactly that. Sadly the vast amount of racist twats in the country means the govt has to move slowly so as not to spook the dickheads.
