what about the mining destruction to natural landscapes? The human labor costs to a very limited supply of rare earth materials? 100% electric is not the answer. I'm not advocating for oil, I just that I think hybrid and hydrogen solutions are more plausible at this time.

Hydrogen is even rarer than rare earths at least on our planet. You have to make it and it uses more energy to make than you get out of it.

Yes it is the most common element in the universe and by far. Trouble is it really likes to stick to other elements and is therefore not something you can just dig out of the ground. You have to split it from something e.g. methane which takes energy and is why oil companies champion it.
