The great thing about videogames is there already exists more games than I'd ever be able to play in a single life time, so there is absolutely no reason why I have to bother with anything using AI, generative, shite. Easiest thing for me in the world to go "Oh? not playing that then"

It's funny as well how, say, Nvidia is marketing genAI NPCs and that as a sort of souped-up version of radiant questing and going "look, this is an RPG that will go on forever, it just keeps making itself as you play" as if that's remotely appealing to anyone with A life

I'm sorry but I can't think of anything less appealing than an LLM hallucinating a shit version of Skyrim at me forever

Especially when the radiant quest stuff is the shit everyone complained about wi Skyrim? People want bespoke stuff! All the big popular and acclaimed RPGs of the last ten years are testament to this!

Mind when No Man's Sky spent the best part of a decade fixing the fact that it was all procedural nonsense

I remember spending like a month um-ing and aah-ing over The Alters because it looked like my shit but is a type of game I'm really bad at so it would be a lot of effort to get through and then, oh, hey, problem solved!
