I truly believed that Garland was capable of delivering the best outcome. He had mentioned his Family's history of being in the Holocaust and his language gave me the sense that he was up to do this. We don't know....what occurred.

Further research re Garland suggests that he was never a MEMBER of the Federalist Society and they did not endorse him. However, he is listed on their website as a "contributor". In my mind, attending their conferences suggests he was not opposed to their views. fedsoc.org/contributors...
If he doesnt lean towards Republican/Federalist viewpoints, then I have to ask, "Why did he refuse to prosecute Trump in the first months of 2021 after the insurrection?" All I know is, he could have - and history will show he should have - but he didn't. So he may as well have been a Federalist.
What happened is that Garland is a Federalist whom Biden should never have appointed. He valued the Office of the Presidency so much that he didn't want to prosecute a President, even when that President fomented an insurrection. Biden appointed the wrong guy to the job! ... And so here we are...
And this is a generous explanation.
Yeah, hindsight is 20/ 20.
Not really hindsight. As soon as Garland was appointed I found out that he was a supporter of the Federalist Society, and 90% of Trump's appointees to the appellate courts are members. Garland was a stupid choice. When we saw that Garland wasn't prosecuting Trump in 2021, he should have been fired.
I did not know that. Sigh 🙏
