It could get even worse. Switzerland abolished all her WTO tariffs on industrial goods. The EU exports mostly industrial goods to Switzerland, so it could also cancel the 1972 FTA without harming EU enterprises much. On the other hand, though, 51% of all Swiss exports would attract a tariff again.
