Even our police don't carry guns in New Zealand, except at airports. Nutters in the US demand their right to own guns (and even open carry in some states) because that's what they think is freedom If they googled "which countries are the freest in the world" they would see the US isn't in the top 10
Same in Scotland, only guns I’ve seen are at airports and even then their not obnoxious. US still thinks it’s the Wild West. So many needless deaths of children and the public for nothing.
Especially not since trump took over - he is striping away freedom at a terrifying rate.
Congrats to New Zealand! Open-carry of guns makes small-minded people feel big and important. Feeling “big and important” is a need of small-minded people. You are right that freedom is most clearly achieved when nobody feels the need to carry or own a gun.
Gun nutters in the US tell me Dems won't ever take their guns away. But the Dems have never said they want to take them all away - just those that can cause the most damage in the shortest time, and aren't used for hunting. NZ has tough gun laws, but I live 2 miles away from here: www.guncity.com
