I saw someone saying "Am I the only person who gets like 99% of the way through games and then just stops?" and my immediate first thought was "Do you by chance have ADHD"

.....o-oh.
For me it depends on the game and how much fun the loop is, most games I can power through because the gameplay loop and story are able to suck me in and keep my attention but if it becomes a slog/too grindy I end up setting it down for years till I’m not burnt out anymore on it *coughs* nioh 1
I do that *so much* Or the inverse where it becomes such a sink that you basically 100% it because it's the only game your brain will let you play.
See, that second one is my brain all the time I am *incapable* of starting another game until I finish the game I am playing. If it means I spend 2 months playing only one game, so bed it
Like, I can't relate because I am a single-tasker, I set my sights on the task until it is DONE But so many of my ADHD friends talk about having games they got far in but didn't finish lmao
It's really funny seeing the difference between me (autistic leaning) and my partner (adhd leaning). I will play one game at a time until Im done. Meanwhile they literally are alternating between 20 or so games. It makes my head spin just to think about it
This is legit one of the many reasons I think I am AuDHD not just ADHD I am way more likely to full focus a game down until it's 100% done or I hit a full crash out on the game which doesn't happen often but is usually a BS grindy achievement that adds nothing to the game.
I'm the same as your friend. I have like 50 games going, I cycle between about 10 of them and ive never finished a game in my life.
Is this a symptom?!? Oh my god I I have so many ;-;
*stares at p3r still one week away from finishing worried that I won't max out fuuka before the fall because I fUCKED UP my perfect run with ONE WEEK LEFT*
99% is pretty far! I'm more of a 70%ish tops kind of gamer lol. Although after having a baby, I have zero energy to game anymore.
