Well, it has the most horrendous history of any nation on earth in the last 250years. It may only be topped by the British Empire. But because of the last 80 years, it ranks first place. France, Germany, Japan, Spain, Italy, Russia, Belgium all in the Top 10. The USA most evil country all-time..

The most evil in the last 80 years? Really? 20 to 27 million deaths in the USSR mostly due to German aggression (then add holocaust deaths) and 15 to 20 million deaths in China mostly due to Japanese aggression during WWII. Certainly the US is not innocent, but our body counts aren't that high.

Mate, the WW2 is now over 80 years ago. I chose that number for a reason. Germany and Japan are in my personal Top10. But I put USA/ British Empire on first/ second because of the longer time frames and the overall higher death counts. USA first because of what they did after WW2.

Meanwhile, The USA gives over $1.2 billion in foreign aid, far more than any nation and per capita, the US is constantly in the top 10 on the World GIving Index. So are we douchebags, perhaps, but in terms of "Evil" were nowhere near the top 10. www.statista.com/statistics/2...

Right fucking now you're financing and delivering the bombs for the Genocide of the Palestinian people. You've attacked Iran without any legal reason. You've bombed the Houthis and killed hundreds of civilians. That's just this fucking year. You're sending immigrants to concentration camps.

You've stopped USAID which was to a large part the CIA anyway. Just this year. (Btw the Dollar is the reserve currency; you can literally just print it.)

Well, it's extreme, but an awful US government is the norm in the eye of the rest of the world. It may be dangerous to be America's enemy, but to be America's friend is fatal. Henry Kissinger

Yeah, I know that. In half of them the USA is somehow involved. All of it is a very dark period of that country. The USA never stopped with crimes all over the world. That's the huge difference. Who killed Lumumba in Kongo? And what follows to this day?

Well mate, 80 years ago was 1945 so, that's WWII. But fine, let's continue on real top 10's. You have the Zanzibar's Revolution & Massacre. The Nigerian Civil War and their slaughter of Igbo people. Cambodia and the Khmer Rouge Equatorial Guinea and Francisco Nguema's "Auschwitz of Africa" regime.

Yeah. I know all of them. Doesn't even come close to what the USA did to the world in the last 80 years. Korea alone could be enough. Who financed Pol Pot? Who bombed Cambodia beforehand? Just take the L. Like Chomsky said: Every US-President after Nuremberg deserves the death penalty.

No. However, the USA has wanted to be the hegemon of the whole world since the Second World War, so it has to listen to most of the criticism, especially when it has brought so much disaster upon the world. But even its own citizens are not even able to meet this minimal requirement.

Mmm a lot of ppl really ignore Canadian history. Ended slavery earlier, but allowed in in the west when confederates fled with their enslaved. Residential schools/the 60s scoop/Starlight tours just in the past few decades. Geneva convention.

People need to learn more about how both only did Portugal's far-right dictator last well into the 1970s with barely anything bad happening to him, but he taught the US's CIA how to torture people, and that same CIA taught those same techniques to "interrogators" in Guantanamo Bay.

Actually, it gets even more ridiculous. Dictator Antonio Salazar suffered a stroke which caused him to lose touch with reality. His injury got so bad that the people below him created a pseudo-shadow government to replace him. He died thinking that he was still in charge even though he really wasn't

But yeah, he was so disliked towards the end of his career that the people below him felt forced to replace him with an actual functioning government, giving away a lot of the territories that was causing much of Portugal's debt at the time.

As a history teacher that lived there for 6 years I’d say not only is their history atrocious, but almost wholly unspoken about. It’s covered but in the most white washed way imaginable. Major focus on how “at least we aren’t the US”. The racism and homophobia is also still horrifically bad

I took US History at the University of Toronto and when we covered WWII Japanese internment camps one of the students declared that would never happen in Canada. The TA had to explain the Canada had, in fact, done it first.

Reminds me of Americans who think the US got involved in WWII to fight facism and antisemitism when the Germans were inspired by US and Canadian segregation laws 🙄 (Plus the fact the US turned away Jewish immigrants.)

Yeah I’m from Mississippi and even I was taught that we only got involved bc Germany kept poking at us/threatening US ships. We really said “that’s a yall problem” and tried not to get involved to a fault. With that said, that was our gov and many Americans wanted to get involved much earlier

I adore Squamish 😭 we went out a fair bit there for climbing! I’d except better coverage there considering how close the community is with the local Nation. It can’t be said to be covered that well throughout the Prairies, unfortunately.
