I agree, but I'm hoping that international recognition means that some of the spineless cowards start to use the G word in regards to Palestine

The other complicated thing is getting the PALESTINIANS to recognize Palestinian statehood - something they generally have not wanted in the past, because that then requires acting like a real country. Their goal has been for Israel not to exist at all, which is why they do stuff like 10/7.

What the Israelis are doing now, the Palestinians would have done to Israel long ago if they only had the might to do it. And they'd be far less restrained than Israel have been. They'd just unabashedly kill everyone in sight.

No other country in the world could incur an attack on its civilians like 10/7 and be expected NOT to respond strongly. That's the anti-semitic undercurrent in public opinion.
