Having seen my share of routine bodycam, scenes like that are the exception in my area, but BIG caveat that these are police that know they are on camera. So I see mostly fairly restrained behavior and attempts at deescalation, but I have no reason to think that is representative.
Rather, it’s an argument for extending that daylight everywhere. As you can see above, it’s far from a guarantee officers won’t act egregious right on camera—they do! but everything that puts them in the habit of thinking twice increases the chances of reasonableness prevailing.
