Has anyone noticed a shift in seemingly random accounts that reply at regular intervals and seemingly have had a meme queued up but when probed further sort of just fall apart like a house of cards? The accounts themselves aren't cunning but perhaps the programming used for such "prop bots" is.
Every time Bluesky is featured on the news in some way ("Bluesky is dying", "Bluesky users are mad about something", "Bluesky users think Trump is dead"), I see an uptick in engagement from rando bots and spam accounts. I can't tell you how many "just a girl from China" messages I have received.
Maybe the Streisand effect even works on bots.
