6/7 watched interviews of men who stormed the beaches. Actual video of that battle and many others are available. I think clips from actual events and clips of the interviews with and testimonies of participants should be a staple in the news DAILY. Americans need reminding of what the values of
7/7 democracy looks like in action and what we owe to the brave men and women who fought to preserve it. Many films also highlight these efforts like the recent film about Lee Miller & the series “Masters of War.” I think, however, that journalism must also highlight & remind of the contributions
8/8 of the contributions and organized efforts of the everyday American like the Navajo code breakers, the Red Cross and its workers, the factory workers who built the tanks, guns, and planes. It is time to inspire new generations but by USING THE MEDIA they consume.

We must take up ethical elements of persuasion to present the truths, to counter the hate that the GOP spews constantly. We must use their tactics against them. We must enlist the best & brightest in the field of persuasion & marketing & also enlist influencers to build/
re-establish the concepts & spirit of a strong America & its democracy. We must create an Uncle Sam metaphor for these new generations while also we make the men & women of the past relevant to them as much as any modern hero. “Masters of the Air” paired the original with the current. We can counter
the GOP’s attempt to erase the history of all heroes including the WIRES, WASPS,WRENS, Tuskegee Airmen, & other minority everyday men & women heroes not only of WWII, but also in other conflicts & those who have served in peacetime. We must highlight them in video clips & film for modern consumers.
We must also highlight the successful cooperation between America and its allies. I realize that we need expertise and funding for such a project, but I believe we can enlist individuals & corporations to help. Correction: what the values of American democracy look like in action . . .
