Because it's important California voters are aware of this special election. It needs a 60% threshold to pass. If it doesn't, Texas will go ahead, California won't and goodbye Democracy. People are entertained and engaged by this, engagement = voters getting out.
There's no point in getting engagement if we aren't clear on what we want people to vote for, which is not just trolling Trump. It's WAY more important than that. The message could not matter more important.
There was plenty about the maps in previous posts and no doubt will be more again. Newsom already said he won't continue doing this indefinitely, he's getting this issue front and center. What has Schumer got front and center? I can't think of one single thing.
