It’s absolutely happening in GA & NC. GA 2008 vs 2020 Black voters voted the same % & made up the same % of the electorate. There was a little shift bc more Latinos & Asians but also bc white Southern suburbanites are voting more Dem than 15 years ago (in part bc many aren’t from the South)

probably explains the GOP's fear and hate of Woke and DEI, the South is learning real history and that means the White Southerns are getting less racist, probably very slowly but still

For kids currently in school in the south that see their curriculum rapidly lurch rightward, I would not be surprised if many who might otherwise become right wing adults are like "wait a minute is all of this maybe BS?" in the same way I did when my parents inexplicably converted to evangelicalism
