I wish my state would do that, though is that policy just for state-issued IDs, not driving licenses? I tend to think that a policy of fairly frequent (every other year? every third year?) vision and reaction time checks for DRIVERS over age 70 would be a net good for public safety.
It's for IDs. Drivers licenses need to be periodically renewed. Current law says that Minnesota drivers age 75 and up must renew their drivers license every four years, which includes passing a vision test each time.
