Its better than nothing, but I'm starting to see this design on many CDOT projects. Great intersection design that just dumps cyclists back into a door zone bike lane

Which means I just won't use this infrastructure. The most common injury is dooring, and it is often severe.

that would take ~30 years for the technology to be adopted in the whole car fleet. I will be close to retirement by then. I would rather have a protected bike lane now when the capital is available to build it.

I've been frustrated for years by bike lanes that end at intersections, so I'm happy to see these protected intersections. It is very odd to be dumped back into a regular painted bike lane after the intersection though. I'm hoping that protected bike lanes are part of the long term goal.
